Our grief support seminar is presented by the Daniels Family Funeral Homes and is facilitated by our own Marlene Daniels with the help of Pat Oberst. Meeting the last Tuesday of each month, you can join at any time.

Dear Friends,

The staff at Daniels Family Funeral Home would like to invite you to participate in a grief support program we are offering for those experiencing grief and loss. The need for ongoing support is crucial in your healing and realizing what your “new normal” is, without your loved one. The quality and quantity of understanding support you get during your grief journey will have a major influence on your capacity to heal. You cannot - nor should you try to - do this alone. Drawing on the experience and encouragement of friends, fellow mourners, or professional counselors is not a weakness but a healthy human need. And because mourning is a process that takes place over time, this support must be available months, even years after the death of someone in your life. When someone you love dies, it can be hard to understand your often complex and painful thoughts and feelings.

We are offering the programs “The Journey of Grief” by author Doug Manning and “Understanding Your Grief” written by author, educator and grief counselor Alan D. Wolfelt Ph. D. These programs are intended to companion you on your own unique grief journey. For “The Journey of Grief”, we will view short video segments followed by a discussion period. “Understanding Your Grief” will be using Alan’s book “Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart” along with a companion journaling book. Books are available for purchase at the meeting, but are not required for participation.

The programs will take place at Cross Lutheran Church, 126 Chapel Terrace in Burlington. We will meet at 6:30pm on the last Tuesday of the month.. The programs are free, and if you choose to use the books and journal for “Understanding Your Grief”, and “The Journey of Grief” they can be purchased through us. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at either our Burlington 763-3434 or Union Grove 878-2011 offices.

Sincerely,
The staff at Daniels Family Funeral Home
