Obituary for George F. Cain

George F. Cain, 81, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Burlington.

Born in Kildav, Kentucky on May 30, 1937, he was the son of George W. and Gladys (nee Booth) Cain. He spent his early life in Harlan County, Kentucky. He later moved to Waukegan, Illinois where he attended and graduated from Waukegan Township High School. He served in the U.S. Army from September 28, 1960 until September 27, 1966.

On August 22, 1968 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to Judith Brake. Following marriage, they lived in Waukegan, Illinois, then Harrietta, Michigan, before settling in Burlington, Wisconsin. He worked at Johnson Motors in Waukegan, Zion Nuclear Power Plant in Zion and the College of Lake County in Grayslake as a security guard. George was an avid collector of cameras and fire arms, enjoyed watching old movies on television, and loved spending time with his grandson George.

George is survived by his daughter, Sarah (James) Roberts; step-children, Kelly Cain and Terry (James) Randa; grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) Jensen, Taylor Decota, Ian Hakala Eric Hakala, and George Roberts; and sister, Helen Ingraham. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Ray and Ken Cain.

The family would like to thank Divita Dialysis and Aurora At Home Hospice for their care of George during this time.
