Elizabeth Ann Grissmeyer,
Age 68, of Salem, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Lake Country Health & Rehab in Oconomowoc. Elizabeth was born in Minnesota on April 5, 1944 to the late Herman and Victoria (nee Penney) Goodpasture. She had been united in marriage to Francis “Frank” Grissmeyer, who preceded her in death.
Elizabeth worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington and a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford. Elizabeth enjoyed crafting and camping. She was a free spirit and had a love of life. Most of all Elizabeth loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished, and her dogs Ashley and Morgan.
Survivors include her loving sons; Scott (Julie) Grissmeyer, Chris (Carrie) Grissmeyer, Todd (Sarah) Grissmeyer and Matt (Jamie) Grissmeyer, grandchildren; Ian, Ava, Kenny, Breanna, Carissa and Nora, and by her special friend, Alan Weis. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Frank, and by a brother, Kenneth Goodpasture.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nursing staff at Lake Country Health & Rehab and also to Dr. George Krismer Sr.
Memorials have been suggested to The Stroke Survivors Foundation.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels on Wednesday, from 4:00 PM until the time of service.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Debski officiating.
Burial will take place on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
