Oliver C. Oler,
Age 65, of Burlington, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. Oliver was born on January 21, 1947 in Minot, ND, to the late Maurice G. and Luella (nee Seibel) Oler. Oliver grew up in Minot where he attended school. He moved to Abilene, TX, at the age of 20, where he met and married Margaret E. Jones on May 24, 1967. After marriage they resided in Texas and then North Dakota before moving to Wisconsin 23 years ago.
In September of 1967, Oliver joined the Electrical Union (IBEW) where he became and worked as a journeyman wireman for the next 42 years. Oliver owned several businessís over the years. At 16 years old he had a tree trimming service, at age 18 a Conoco gas station, and at the age of 31 Double O Flooring, just to name a few. In January of 2004 he went to Iraq where he worked for the next 6 years.
Oliver accepted the Lord 35 years ago and from that point on he lived his life for God. He always tried to help anyone in need, even strangers on the side of the road. Oliver was very proud of his 3 children and 5 grandchildren and tried to spend as much time with them as possible.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret; children, Keven (Amy) of Bismarck, ND, Celest of Elkhorn and Torry (Angel Nordling) of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Kelsey, Logan, Torran, Xandria and Autumn; siblings, Bud (Betty) Oler of Tye TX, Clayton (Joanie) Oler of Parkers Prairie, MN, Phyllis (Ward) Rosendahl of Sioux City, IA and Lucy (Norman) Cork of Minot, ND; sister-in-law Melba (Ranny)Wheeler of Sweetwater, TX, and by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, S.T. and Mary P. (nee Gibson) Jones, a nephew Lamar Clair Oler, and a sister-in-law Neva Joyce (John C.) Brasuell
The family would like to express a special thank you to their family and friends for the outpouring of love and support.
Memorials have been suggested to the Calvary Community Church Building Fund.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 21, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home and again on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Calvary Community Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay, with Rev. Doug Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Quaker Cemetery in Lyons.
